Don’t Burn Bridges
One thing I notice more and more today is that many people – especially younger auto detailing business owners – struggle with building meaningful relationships and communicating effectively with experienced professionals.
We live in a world of constant scrolling, short-form content, and digital interactions. While technology has created incredible opportunities for our detailing busiensses, it has also reduced the amount of face-to-face communication, mentorship, and professional networking that helps people grow both personally and professionally.
What concerns me even more is how often people, regardless of age, burn bridges with business contacts, vendors, former colleagues, and mentors. That’s a huge mistake.
Business is a long game. The person you disagree with today may be the person who opens a door for you tomorrow. The mentor you stop communicating with may have the exact guidance you need years down the road. The vendor, client, or business contact you dismiss today could become a valuable partner in the future.
Relationships matter. Reputation matters. How you treat people matters.
Always be professional. Always be respectful. Always leave doors open when possible.
You never know when you’ll need someone’s wisdom, support, connection, or opportunity in the future.
Build bridges. Don’t burn them!
